Bridal Shower Invites

Bridal Shower Invite OK, so this is what I've been doing for the past few weeks. My best friend is getting married, and I'm the MOH. She asked me to make the invitations for the wedding, which I have been doing (took FOREVER), and so I made these bridal shower invitations with the cardstock left over from the invitations. You can't see it so well in the photo, but the cardstock is a shimmery light green, which is so cute! I also wanted to keep these simple, because the wedding invitations were pretty involved.

These only use 1 stamp from Stampin' Up! and my black Stazon ink. The interior with the details were printed on my super-huge laser printer (See picture below. I blocked out some of the details to preserve the girl's privacy, but you can get the idea of what the inside looks like. Not to say anyone would REALLY care and crash or anything haha!). So I printed the invitations first, then cut the paper and created the cards, then stamped the image. Pretty simple, but a little time consuming, especially since I sent 70!!!

I will post the wedding invites after they've gone out (which will be in the next week) - the shower is next Sunday the 28th and the wedding is August 21st. Will be back with details!  Bridal Shower Invite Inside with BLOCK

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Happy birthday cupcake Happy Friday everyone! Something small to share with you today, it's a 3X3 mini card. I love my Stampendous cupcake stamp set, it's an oldie but a goodie! I used paper from Memory Block and Ribbon from Papertrey Ink. Some stickles on the cupcake top and my nestabilities, and that's it!! I think this is good for a fall / winter birthday because of the colors (kind of dark), so I may have to wait awile before I use this one. . .

Anyway, thanks for looking!

3 posts in one day!!

Wishing you Well Wanted to get all of these posts up before I leave town tomorrow. This one is a CPS sketch. I used to play along more, so I am excited to finally have time to catch up! I also bought a new tool that has been on the list for awhile - my new edge distressor - I know, it's nothing "new", but new for me. The DP is something I purchased awhile ago, but never used in a card - it's from the Paper Studio. Love how they coordinate.

Supplies: Cardstock, stamps, ink - PTI; DP - the Paper Studio; button - Making Memories; ribbon - Michael's; edge distressor - Heidi Swapp; tag punch, circle punch - Marvy Uchida.

Happy Father's Day

Happy father's day Finally getting to play along with Beate's / Jenn's WSC #79.  I like this sketch, and decided to do it in the opposite direction (tall card instead of wide). I also took the opportunity to make a father's day card, because I know I will forget if I put it off until later. Overall, am pleased with this one - simple, but ok in my book!

Supplies: Cardstock, ribbon, stamps, ink - PTI; DP - My Mind's Eye, tag punch - Marvy Uchida; border punch - Fiskars; edge distresor - Heidi Swapp.

Best Friend

Best Friend I made this card for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite challenge - when I saw the colors I immediately thought of my Papertrey products (shocking). It's nice to have a challenge like this that doesn't involve Stampin' Up! color names, because I don't have a lot of Stampin' Up! supplies. Anyway, hope you like it!

Supplies: Cardstock, DP, stamps, ribbon, ink - PTI; scalloped scissors - Fiskars; Punches - EK Success.

Sweet, Thanks!

Sweet Thanks

Thought I'd use some Stampin' Up! products for a change, although I did sneak in some Papertrey with the ribbon of couse. This card reminds me of when I first stared making cards a couple of years ago, and the "standard" layout I used was similar to this. I think I've evolved over time, especially as my supplies collection has grown, but it's nice to get back to basics!

Supplies: Cardstock, patterned paper, stickers (Stampin' Up!); Ribbon (Papertrey Ink); Border Punch (Fiskars); Rub-on letters (DCWV).

Give Thanks

Give thanks  Two posts in one week - I'm impressing myself these days. . . hopefully I will get even more frequent with these. ANYWAY, I really like this card - used my new-ish paper pad and felt flower stickers from K&Copmany, the Fiskars border punch which is quickly becoming a favorite in my punch collection, and of course some Papertrey Ink products. The colors are kind of fall-looking because the colors are a little darker, however I like the distressed look of the paper and added a "fall" type sentiment from one of my few Stampin' Up! sets. Enjoy and have a great day!

Something to Post

Just MovedFinally, finally, finally, I had time to create something and I actually felt like it! I have had zero motivation in the past month to do anything creative, but NOW I think I'm officially on a roll.

This card uses mostly all Papertrey Ink supplies (time away has not cured me of my obsession). I kept the design simple, and wanted to try coloring the house in with white pencil.

SUPPLIES: Cardstock, patterned paper, ink, stamps, ribbon - Papertrey Ink; Tag die - Nestabilities; button - Making Memories; colored pencils - Prismacolor

Enjoy the day!

Exciting News!!!!

Just dropping by to share 2 bits of exciting news:

  • I just got an honorable mention for this month's Papertrey Ink Guest Star Stamper contest. Check out Nicole's blog - my Friend Valentine card is on there. Woo Hoo!

  • I got my VERY FIRST letter from Cards Magazine - they accepted one of my cards for publication!!! I'm completely excited. I shouldn't jinx myself, because it hasn't been published yet, it's coming in the June issue if all goes as planned - look for me!

Right now I'm working really hard, so not a lot of time to create and nothing to share - I'll be back in a week or so with a card or 2 to post, so check back soon!

Enjoy your week!

Friendship Valentine

Friendship  I love my Papertrey sets! I picked the ocean tides as the main color and paired it with dark chocolate, sweet blush and a little berry sorbet to achieve this look. I really like the ocean tides - it goes with so much, and isn't too "lovey" - perfect for a friendship valentine.

Supplies: Papertrey Ink cardstock (Ocean Tides, White, Dark Chocolate, Sweet Blush, Berry Sorbet), stamps (Heart Prints, Heart Prints Sentiments); Stampin' Up! pewter clip; Nestabilities dies.
